The Exit Strategy Manifesto — Our Philosophy on Startup Job Search
In 2023, I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my leadership career: laying off nearly half the team at Finless Foods. I refused to let them navigate that alone.
So I built something to help. A Notion database packed with investors, contacts, job boards, and companies I could personally vouch for. Word spread quickly. The people I'd laid off started contributing their own networks — VCs they knew, communities they'd joined, people they trusted. What began as an act of care grew into a living, breathing resource.
Then it happened to me. Earlier this year, I was laid off too.
I found myself opening that same database, reaching out to those same contacts, doing exactly what I'd built it for others to do. That's when it clicked: this can't just live in a Notion database anymore.
If it helped my team survive 2023 and it's helping me right now — it can help a lot more people. So while I'm actively job searching myself, I decided to rebuild it, open it up, and share it with the world. Not as a side project. As something real. A tool anyone can use to find their next opportunity.
AI finally made it possible to take what lived in that database and give it to everyone.
Built from the hardest moments. Shared for the next chapter. Nobody gets left behind.
